Welcome students to the ABC Animals and Insects quest. Your job is to locate animals for your assigned letters. You will use teacher selected webquests to accomplish this. When everyone has completed the required tasks for each of their letters, the information will be compiled into a class ABC book. So, let us move on into the wild world of ABC animals and insects. Good Luck!
Your task is to create a class ABC book of animals and insects.
Choose an animal or insect for each of your assigned letters.
Read a variety of ABC books to analyze style, format, illustrations, etc.
Research your animal and insects using the internet, encyclopedias and books about animals and insects.
Collect information and illustrations for each animal or insect.
Create individual pages for each animal or insect.
Create class book with assistance from teacher.
Bind the book with assistance from teacher.
Create a web page about your animals or insects with assistance from teacher.

1. Obtain your list of letters from your teacher.
2. Select the animals or insects for your assigned letters.
3. Read a variety of ABC books to analyze style, format, illustrations,
ect.
4. Starting with one animal or insect, research your animal or insect
using the internet or books about animals.
5. If necessary, download any information about your animal or insect
from the internet.
6. With this information, write a 3-5 sentence paragraph about your
animal or insect. This information should include the animal's habitat,
diet, and country of origin.
7. On the same page as the information, depict an illustration for your
animal or insect either by drawing a picture taking a picture with a
camera, or downloading a picture off the internet.
8. Repeat the same process for your other animals or insects.
9. Create a class book with teacher's assistance.
10. Bind the book with teacher's assistance.
11. Create a web page with teacher's assistance.
Glossary:Habitat: A habitat is the place where an animal lives. It provides the animal with everything it needs to survive-- food, water, and shelter.
Diet: What an animal consumes by eating and drinking.
Country of Origin: The country the animal originates from.
Webquests: The process of location information from the internet.

When you have finished the class ABC book, you will be an expert in internet webquests, collecting, organizing, and publishing information, drawing, picture taking, and downloading pictures from the internet, and familiar with the process of publishing a book for yours and others' enjoyment!
